Terms & Services

These Terms & Services govern your use of the HealthDirect Labs website, the appointment and message forms, the newsletter, and the care you book with our clinicians and laboratory. Please read them with the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the forms and do not book a visit. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@healthdirectlabs.com.

HealthDirect Labs provides clinical conversations, laboratory testing, dental care, and related coordination. The website is an information and booking tool. It is not an emergency service and it is not a promise that a particular outcome will occur.

1. Who may use this website

You may use the site if you can form a binding agreement and you will use it for a lawful health question of your own or of a person whose care you are authorised to arrange. If you send information about someone else, you confirm that you have their permission, or the legal authority, to share it with us.

The site is written for adults arranging care. We do not knowingly collect information from children through these forms. A parent or guardian should book and correspond for a child, and should say so in the message.

2. The nature of our services

Consultations, reviews, laboratory panels, dental examinations, and care plans are professional services delivered by named clinicians and laboratory staff. They depend on the history you give, the examination that is possible, and the quality of any sample. No page on this website, including the journal, creates a clinician–patient relationship by itself. That relationship begins when a visit is accepted or when a clinician agrees to review your information.

Educational articles describe general patterns. They may not fit your body, your medicines, or your history. Do not start, stop, or change a medicine because of an article. Do not delay urgent care because a paragraph sounded reassuring.

3. Emergencies

Do not use the appointment form, the contact form, the newsletter, or the email desk to report an emergency. If you have severe chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or trouble speaking, heavy bleeding, a serious injury, a severe allergic reaction, or you feel acutely unsafe, contact local emergency services at once. Waiting for an email reply in those situations is dangerous. Our Sunday hours and same-week slots are for urgent clinical questions that are not emergencies of that kind.

4. Appointments

Submitting the appointment form is a request, not a confirmed booking. A coordinator replies by email to offer, move, or decline a time. A visit is confirmed only when we say it is confirmed. Please arrive as the confirmation instructs, including any fasting window. If you are late, the visit may be shortened or moved so the next patient is not displaced.

Tell us if you need to cancel. Requests received at least one open day ahead are moved without a fee. A late cancellation of a long consultation may hold the visit fee when the slot cannot be offered to another person. Laboratory work already performed cannot be undone. The review conversation attached to it can still be rescheduled.

We may reschedule when a clinician is ill, when a sample cannot be processed safely, or when an earlier patient needs urgent time. We will email a new option as soon as we can.

5. Information you give us

Care is only as accurate as the history. You agree to give a truthful account of symptoms, medicines, allergies, pregnancy, and previous reactions to tests or procedures. If you omit something important, the plan may be wrong. You also agree that messages you send are your own and that you will not upload another person’s records without authority.

Forms on this website run in your browser. They check that required fields are present and that an email address looks properly formed. They do not send data to a server. Until a working email or booking channel is connected by the clinic, a confirmation on screen is a practice acknowledgement only. Do not rely on a practice form for urgent clinical news. Use the published email address hello@healthdirectlabs.com for a message a person will read.

6. Laboratory testing

Samples are collected and analysed using the methods in place on the day. Reference ranges are statistical guides, not personal promises. A value inside a range can still matter, and a value outside a range can still be harmless for you. Interpretation belongs to a clinician who knows the question that prompted the test.

Sometimes a sample must be repeated because it clotted, haemolysed, was mislabelled, or was collected without the preparation the method requires. If the problem is ours, we repeat it without a new charge. If preparation instructions were not followed, a repeat may be charged, and we will tell you before we book it.

You may decline a test. Declining may limit what we can conclude. We will say so, and we will not pressure you to proceed for the sake of a package price.

7. Clinical judgement and outcomes

Medicine involves uncertainty. A careful visit can still miss a diagnosis that declares itself later. A normal test does not guarantee future health. A treatment can fail, cause side effects, or need to be changed. We commit to a careful process, a clear explanation, and a route back to us when things change. We do not warrant a cure, a normal result, or a particular recovery time.

Surgical and dental care carry additional risks that are discussed before you consent: bleeding, infection, injury to nearby structures, reactions to medicines, and the chance that more treatment will be needed. Consent is specific to the procedure named. It is not hidden inside these website terms.

8. Pricing and payment

Prices shown for plans are for the conversations and panels listed on the pricing page. Other services are quoted before they happen. Quotes can change if the examination reveals a different need, and you will be asked before that extra work starts. You are responsible for the fees of services you accept.

Plan prices are not a statement about any insurer, employer scheme, or public programme. If you intend to seek reimbursement, ask for an itemised note and confirm the rules yourself. Failure of a third party to pay does not cancel the fee for a service you received.

9. Acceptable use of the website

You agree not to misuse the site. That includes attempting to break or probe the pages, copying the site to impersonate the clinic, sending malicious content through a form, harvesting text with abusive automation, or using the journal as a substitute for licensed clinical software. You may share links to our pages. You may not present our articles as your own clinical advice or remove the context that they are general information.

10. Intellectual property

The HealthDirect Labs name, the flask-and-cross logo, page design, and original text are owned by the clinic or used with permission. Photographs of clinicians and care settings are used to illustrate the practice. You may not copy the logo or republish long portions of the journal for commercial use without written consent. Short quotations with a link and credit are welcome.

11. Newsletter

If you subscribe, you agree to receive occasional educational emails at the address you provide. You can unsubscribe on the unsubscribe page or by using the link in a letter. Unsubscribing stops the newsletter. It does not stop messages about a visit, a result, or a bill, because those are part of care rather than marketing. Details of what we store for the list are in the Privacy Policy.

12. Third-party links and sharing tools

Social icons on this site open sharing tools so you can tell someone about a page. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control them. A link to another website is not an endorsement of that website’s clinical advice.

13. Privacy

Health information is sensitive. Our Privacy Policy explains what the forms ask for, how a clinical record is handled once care begins, how long information is kept, and the choices you have. If the policy and these terms both speak about personal information, the Privacy Policy governs that subject.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The website is provided as it stands. Pages may be updated, interrupted, or occasionally inaccurate while they are being corrected. We work to keep hours, prices, and clinician lists current, and we correct mistakes when we learn of them. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and error-free content. Nothing in this section limits a duty that clinical law does not allow us to limit, and nothing here excludes liability for harm caused by negligence that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, HealthDirect Labs and its clinicians and staff are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising only from use of the website, such as loss of profit or loss of data from your own device. Liability for clinical care is governed by the duties that apply to health professionals and laboratories, including duties that cannot be waived. If a legal limit on website-related liability is permitted, that limit is the amount you paid us for the website-related service in the previous three months, or a nominal sum if you paid nothing. This clause does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is prohibited, and it does not limit liability for fraud.

16. Your responsibility to us

If you misuse the site, impersonate the clinic, or send us information you had no right to share, you will cover the reasonable losses and costs that misuse causes, including the cost of correcting a record and responding to a claim by the person whose information you shared. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own negligence or wilful misconduct.

17. Suspension

We may refuse a booking, end a newsletter subscription, or stop corresponding where there is abuse of staff, repeated missed visits without notice, a request that is outside our competence, or a legal duty to step back. We will explain the reason unless doing so would put someone at risk or break the law. Emergency redirection advice still applies: use local emergency services when the situation is an emergency.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when services, prices, or the law change. The page will show a revised date. Continued use of the forms after that date means you accept the update for future use. A visit already confirmed keeps the clinical and price terms that were explained when you accepted it, unless a change is required for safety and we tell you.

19. Law and disputes

These terms are intended to be read under the laws that apply where the care is delivered, together with any protections you cannot be asked to give up. Website-only disputes that are not about clinical care should first be raised by email so we can try to resolve them. Courts or forums that have authority over the clinic can hear disputes that are not resolved. Nothing in this section prevents you from contacting a health regulator or a consumer authority that is entitled to hear from you.

20. Contact

HealthDirect Labs welcomes questions about these terms at hello@healthdirectlabs.com. Please use a subject line that begins with “Terms” so the note reaches the right person. We aim to reply during open hours on the following open day. Do not include an emergency in that message.
